I have been a teacher within Early Childhood Education for over 30 years. I have a BS ED in both special and general education and a MA Ed in Early Childhood Special Education. I also hold an English Language Learner endorsement. In the past, I have taught in Chicago and for SEDOL (Special Education District of Lake County). While taking off time from the public schools when my children were young, I taught a pre-k class at a local preschool. This is my 18th year with District 34.
My Family
My husband and I have two boys. Our sons are grown and live in the area. My older son is married and we recently welcomed our first grandchild into the family! We also have two dogs. Harley an Sophie, two wonderful mixed-breed rescues.
When I'm not at School
When not teaching, I enjoy being active. I love long distance running and I have competed in many triathlons and running races, including the Ironman Triathlon and the Boston Marathon. I also love yoga and have both my children's yoga certification and my RYT 200. (registered yoga teacher - 200 hour level) When not running, or practicing yoga, I can be found walking my dogs in the forest, reading, or working in my garden.
